Hm, I'm not sure if it's his 'religion' that killed his brain or if he'd just be a general shitbag no matter what his beliefs ... but then I wouldn't call whatever his family is doing a religion - even calling it a cult feels too tame when it's just batshit craziness patriarch-worship unlimited with a bit of a pseudo-Christian varnish.

But I find it scary that people could be made to believe so deeply in such illogical and stupid ideas.

I find it especially incomprehensible that women will allow themselves to be mistreated because they are taught men have a god-given right to do so.
1) there is no god
2) why would you want to worship a god who gives that right to men?

Frightening. Mind you, we may not get the christian version over here anymore, but we get the muslims. Same batshit crazy, just more clothes on, and a chip on the shoulder for having less.
